The Muir Hub is the newest community building in Muir of Ord, opened on the 21st of January 2017. Originally part of the Tarradale primary and junior secondary school, the building had been left unoccupied for a number of years. Its transformation into The Muir Hub was funded largely by the Big Lottery Fund and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

There are versatile meeting rooms, an auditorium which features retractable seating and stage with cinema and sound system, heritage and local information and a retail area selling local art and crafts. The Muir Hub is home to a variety of groups – some old and some new. It is also a place for local organisations to meet and a venue for social events, cinema screenings and provides a welcoming space for the community, be it youth, elderly or families.

The Muir Hub cafe is run by Kerri and Derek Hess

The Muir Hub has a group of dedicated volunteers who continue to manage the Hub’s operational plans, activities and events.
