There’s no doubt that Muir of Ord has had a busy summer! There was a great buzz around the village with lots of new faces, many visiting or passing through as they explored the Highlands or were on a day out to see what’s on their doorstep.
Many of those visitors popped into the Muir Hub, some to grab a coffee or a spot of lunch at Café Artysans and others to see if anyone could advise them on what they could do or see whilst in the area. Perhaps a round of golf, some pottery painting, sampling some whisky, breaking in the new board at the Skatepark, a walk around the village via Lily Loch or something a little further afield in the Highland area.
It’s a good job the Hub has become a Visit Scotland iKnow centre then! Our Tourist Group at the Muir of Ord Development Trust have had a busy spring / summer collating local knowledge and know-how to enhance our visitors experience as part of the partner programme. They’ve created handy and accessible folders with local information from shops and maps, to local walks and places to visit. The content is comprehensive but there’s always room for more so be sure to have a look next time you’re in and let us know if there’s anything to add.
With tourist season continually in full flow with the popularity of the North Coast 500 there’s due to be even more new faces stopping into Muir of Ord. Or maybe you’ll have visitors yourself who’ll be looking for some fun things to do while they’re here. Why not direct them to the Hub for some local knowledge with an ‘iKnow’ attitude!
